Theoretical section of the Safe Shooter course includes a theory exam, which the participant must pass to take part in the practical exam. The theory section covers the rules of the sport, emphasizing safety-related regulations.
Prerequisite for participating in the Safe Shooter course is that the participant must be a member of a shooting club that belongs to the Finnish Shooting Sport Federation (SAL).
After passing the theory exam, participants must complete a practical shooting test. Requirements for participating in the practical shooting test are:
-> You have successfully completed the theory section
-> You are a member of a shooting club under SAL. If you are not a member of SAL, join an appropriate shooting club and inform which club you joined. ATC Shooters is one option. Membership in ATC Shooters can be applied for by sending an email to atcshooters@gmail.com and specifying which disciplines you wish to practice (IPSC, SRA).
-> You have a valid SAL hobbyist or competition license.
Additionally, we recommend having some shooting experience with handguns. For example, ATC's Blue and Black Card courses provide a good foundation for completing the practical shooting test.
For more information on obtaining the license, you can visit SAL's website: http://www.ampumaurheiluliitto.fi/liitto/lisenssit-ja-vakuutukset/osta-lisenssi/
Those who successfully complete the course and the shooting test will be reported to the SAL’s Safe Shooter list by the agreed-upon deadline during the course.
The intensive course's theory lecture focuses specifically on the rules, and all prerequisite knowledge acquisition and familiarization with the sport are left as assignments for the course participants using the provided materials and links!
