Aawee Kajaani (former Jahtiaitta) is the specialist firearms, outdoor and hunting store for the Kainuu region, located on Kasarminkatu near the town centre. Customers are served from across the region – from Sotkamo, Kuhmo and Paltamo, the whole of Kainuu and Finland.

The Jahtiaitta tradition continues

For nearly three decades the Kasarminkatu store was known as Jahtiaitta, built into a Kainuu outdoor-retail institution by entrepreneur Hannu Korhonen. Aawee acquired the entire Jahtiaitta business in October 2025, and operations as Aawee Kajaani began on 1 January 2026 – the familiar staff continue, and the in-house gunsmith services remain a strength of the store. At the same time, a broader action and sport shooting selection is being brought to Kainuu.

What you’ll find in store

The heart of the Kajaani store is hunting and outdoor equipment, and you’ll also find firearms and shooting supplies and optics and sights. The in-house gunsmith services handle maintenance and repairs on site.
