Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How can we help? We have compiled answers to the most common questions about ordering and delivery. For firearms and explosive-related products in particular (ammunition, gunpowder, primers), we follow a strict process in accordance with applicable regulations.

Ordering Licensed and Regulated Products

How do I order firearms, ammunition, or primers?

These products always require special attention due to licensing requirements:

1
Strong identification: All customers must verify their identity through the Signicat service.
2
Submission of permit documents:
  • Firearms: Send the original acquisition permit (4 copies), signed, by post to our Jämsä store.
  • Ammunition, primers, and components: Submit a copy of both sides of your possession permit during the Signicat identification process.
3
Delivery method: These products can be delivered to your home only via Matkahuolto as a personally handed-over shipment, or via a separate Kaukokiito ADR/hazardous goods transport. Store pickup is also available.
Can I buy primers without a permit?

Buying primers requires either a valid possession permit for a firearm in the corresponding caliber or a permit entitling you to reload ammunition. Proof of identity is always required.

What about ERVA magazines and their restrictions?

Magazines with a capacity exceeding 20 rounds for a pistol or 10 rounds for a rifle require an ERVA marking on the permit (if the permit was issued after 15 July 2017). Please check your permit status before ordering.

Products and Availability

When will Nordic Components products be available again?

Nordic Components is a highly sought-after brand in our selection. The next larger shipment of Nordic Components products is currently estimated to arrive during Q1–Q2. You can monitor availability on the product pages or subscribe to an email notification.

How do I know if a product is in stock?

The product page shows real-time "Store availability". If the product is in stock, it can usually be shipped within 24 hours. If the product is out of stock, you will see an estimated delivery time or you can request an availability notification.

Deliveries and Hazardous Goods Transport

What does hazardous goods transport mean?

Hazardous goods transport refers to a special transport service for dangerous goods, used for the safe and regulation-compliant delivery of ammunition, gunpowder, and primers throughout Finland.

  • Schedule: Special transports operate on specific routes and timetables. You can confirm the date of the next shipment with our customer service.
  • Restrictions: Hazardous goods products cannot be delivered to Posti or Matkahuolto parcel lockers due to pickup point restrictions.
How is gunpowder delivered?

Gunpowder is classified as a high-risk hazardous product. It is delivered either via a separate hazardous goods special transport arranged through Kaukokiito. Pickup from the store is always a free option.

How long does delivery take?

For in-stock products, usually 1–3 business days. If the order includes hazardous goods products or items from multiple warehouses, the delivery time may be 3–7 business days.
