Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
How can we help? We have collected answers to the most common questions about ordering and delivery. Especially for firearms and explosives (ammunition, gunpowder, primers), we follow a strict process in line with Finnish regulations.
Ordering permit-required and regulated products
These products always require special attention because of permit requirements:
- Firearms: send the original acquisition permit (4 copies), signed, by post to our Jämsä store. Include your order number.
- Ammunition, primers and parts: provide a copy of both sides of your possession permit in connection with identification.
The parcel is handed over only to you in person after your identity and age have been checked from an official photo ID. The parcel is not left at the door and is not handed over with a power of attorney. If delivery fails, the parcel is taken to a pickup point, where you collect it yourself with your photo ID. You do not need to purchase Matkahuolto's paid Contact delivery.
Buying primers requires either a possession permit for a firearm in the matching calibre or a permit entitling you to reload ammunition. Identity must always be verified.
Magazines with a capacity of more than 20 rounds for pistols or more than 10 rounds for rifles require an ERVA entry in the permit (if the permit was issued after 15 July 2017). Please check your permit before ordering.
Products and availability
Nordic Components is a very popular brand in our range, and products arrive in batches. You can follow availability on the product pages or subscribe to an email notification for when a product is back in stock.
The product page shows real-time "Store availability". If the product is in stock, it can usually be shipped within 24 hours. If the product is out of stock, you will see the estimated delivery time or can request an availability notification.
Deliveries and dangerous goods (VAK) shipments
Matkahuolto renewed its home delivery service on 1 September 2026. The parcel is now left at your door on the day you choose, and you do not need to be at home. If you want the parcel handed to you, you can purchase Contact delivery from Matkahuolto or redirect the shipment to a pickup point via the link in Matkahuolto's message or in the Paketit app. This does not apply to permit-required items, which are always handed over in person.
Yes. All Matkahuolto delivery methods accept parcels with a longest side of up to 200 cm (79 in). Additional handling is included in the shipping cost.
VAK is the Finnish term for the transport of dangerous goods. Gunpowder is delivered as a Kaukokiito VAK special shipment. Ammunition is shipped as Matkahuolto home delivery with personal handover, with dangerous goods markings.
- Schedule: gunpowder special shipments run on specific routes and schedules. Our customer service can confirm the date of the next shipment.
- Restrictions: VAK products cannot be delivered to Posti or Matkahuolto parcel lockers.
Gunpowder is a product with a high hazard classification. It is delivered as a separate VAK special shipment via Kaukokiito. Store pickup is always a free alternative.
Products in stock are usually shipped within 24 hours, and pickup point parcels are usually ready for pickup in 1–3 working days. With home delivery you choose the delivery day yourself from Matkahuolto's message. If the order contains VAK products or products from several warehouses, delivery may take 3–7 working days.
Ordering and payment
Yes, but only for ATC shooting range services and courses. Physical webshop products cannot be paid with employee benefits due to Finnish tax regulations.
