How do I properly treat my HAIX shoes?
Although HAIX shoes are pre-treated during production, we recommend regular impregnation to extend the lifespan of the shoes. First, clean the shoes with a brush or remove stubborn dirt with a mild, lukewarm soap solution before reapplication.
Spray the product generously onto the leather from about 30 cm away, allowing the leather to “absorb” the impregnation and care substances deeply. Allow the spray to work for about 15 minutes before the next application; this treatment can be repeated up to three times. After this, you can use care products specifically designed for smooth leather if needed.
How often should I treat my shoes?
If you use your shoes regularly, treating them every 4–8 weeks is sufficient. Shoes should also be treated again when they have been thoroughly soaked.
How long should I wait after treatment?
Shoes should rest for about 24 hours after impregnation to allow the care substances to take full effect.
What are the benefits of impregnation?
The impregnation agent acts as a protective layer that prevents moisture and dirt from penetrating the shoe. Additionally, HAIX impregnation products care for the leather of the shoes.
Why do GORE-TEX shoes need impregnation?
The GORE-TEX membrane is located beneath the outer material and prevents moisture from entering the shoe. The impregnation spray makes the outer material waterproof and dirt-repellent, which prevents the surface material from getting wet.
