Sold as a complete package with a stock, the Strasser RS 700 AVA-Tahr is an exceptionally smart and sleek rifle. The rifle action is based on the Remington 700, one of the most popular actions for bolt-action rifles in the world. As a straight-pull action, Strasser’s take on the firearm is significantly faster than traditional bolt-action rifles without sacrificing safety: the RS 700 uses four locking lugs, each of which is sufficient for the safe locking of a shot. The RS 700 can easily accommodate readily available Remington 700 barrels, two-piece scope bases, triggers, and stocks, regardless of whether they are left- or right-handed. Furthermore, the rifle uses an AICS magazine well, making it compatible with magazines that meet that standard.

Made from robust steel, the RS 700 AVA-Tahr, like its fellow Strasser 700 series rifles, is protected against scratches and corrosion with PlasOx surface treatment. The barrels are cold-hammer-forged to ensure precision and durability. The barrels come with pre-threading for a suppressor or muzzle brake. The rifles feature an easy-shooting Timney Hunter Elite trigger with a two-position safety and a pull weight of 2.5 pounds (approximately 1.13 Kg). There is a cocking indicator at the rear of the action.

Compatibility with Remington 700:

• Stocks: The RS 700 is compatible with all Remington 700 Short Action stocks for both right- and left-handed users. The bolt holder elegantly fills the bolt handle hole in the stock. The holder can be swapped to either side depending on the stock.
• Barrels: All Remington 700 barrels with a barrel nut or indexing for locking the barrel fit the RS 700. Due to the use of so-called "fat bolt" style, slight modifications are needed to ensure the larger bolt fits the barrel.
• AICS Compatible: AICS (Accuracy International Chassis System) is a magazine standard. All double-stack, but single-feed AICS compatible polymer and metal magazines fit the rifle.
• Triggers: All Remington 700 triggers are compatible.

You can change the handedness by acquiring another bolt and bolt handle for the opposite hand.
