The 14.5"/12.5" barrel length was selected for the NC-15 Recon series for better handling and versatility, especially if a suppressor is desired. The longer 14.5" barrel provides greater muzzle velocity for the bullet and performs better at longer shooting distances. Many (especially those with stretch arms) also prefer the 14.5" option for fit and shooting ergonomics. On the other hand, the 12.5" barrel is slightly more maneuverable and compact, excelling in TRA/CQB-style shooting.
