The 14.5"/12.5" barrel length has been chosen for the NC-15 Recon series for improved handling and versatility, especially if a suppressor is to be added. The longer 14.5" barrel gives more velocity to the bullet and performs better at longer shooting distances. Many (especially long-range shooters) also prefer the 14.5" option for fit and shooting ergonomics. The 12.5" barrel, on the other hand, is slightly more maneuverable and compact, excelling in TRA/CQB-type shooting.
With a 5.56 NATO chamber, you can trust that the weapon will function reliably even in dirty and adverse conditions.
