Improved ergonomics and control
The new RTF6 surface texture combines the RTF2 and RTF4 textures to provide better grip while ensuring a more comfortable feel in hand. The textured surface area has been significantly increased from previous versions. The grip has been better shaped to fit a variety of hand sizes, ensuring a better hold on the firearm for the shooter. The trigger mechanism has been redesigned to make the trigger more manageable and straight at the trigger finger position. The trigger has also been moved slightly back, allowing it to better accommodate shooters with smaller hands or shorter fingers. The firearm includes two interchangeable back plates (2mm and 4mm) to ensure suitability for larger hands.
The grip features a high Beavertail which provides a critical high hold for recoil control, protecting the shooter’s hand from the slide movement. The design of the frame has been enhanced by elevating the trigger guard's Undercut allowing for a higher grip while improving recoil management. Thumb rests have been shaped on both sides above the trigger guard directly on the frame to assist in building an identical grip and help in recoil control. The Magwell has been enlarged, meaning the magazine well has been widened and beveled to expedite and ensure successful magazine changes. The slide catch protection has been raised and widened on both sides of the frame to reduce the possibility of accidental engagement. The slide serrations have been deepened and reshaped in a new manner to ensure better handling.
Modified optics mounting system.
Optics readiness is now standard on every Gen6 firearm. Instead of separate mounting plates, sights now attach directly to the slide using a plastic adapter plate to assist with mounting. This plastic adapter plate reduces the impact on the sight from recoil. Attaching the sight directly to the slide without a mounting plate lowers the red dot sight to make it easier to acquire the sight picture.
Improved reliability while maintaining accessory compatibility.
The reliability of the firearm has been enhanced through minor adjustments to the recoil spring, extractor, and barrel. The firearm retains compatibility with Gen5-rated magazines and holsters, meaning previous generation owners do not have to change their existing gear, and new owners have a wide variety of options available.
