Sharpening: • First, grind both sides of the blade with a coarse sharpening stone in the direction of the edge until "spirals" form at the edge. • Remove the spirals on the smoother side of the sharpening stone. • Use water during sharpening as well. • Clean and dry the blade. • Sharpen the knife regularly to avoid the need for intensive sharpening. Sheath Care: • Treat the knife sheath with leather conditioner as needed. Knife Care: • Do not wash the high carbon steel knife in a dishwasher. • Always dry and clean the blade after use. • Keep the knife in its sheath, and store it in a dry place. • Occasionally treat the high carbon steel with cooking oil or paraffin oil.
