Sharpening: • First, grind both sides of the blade with a coarse sharpening stone in the direction of the blade edge until a "bevel" forms at the edge. • Remove the bevel on the smoother side of the stone. • Use water for sharpening as well. • Clean and dry the blade after sharpening. • Regularly sharpen the knife to avoid a demanding one-time sharpening. Sheath Care: • Treat the knife sheath with leather conditioner if necessary. Knife Maintenance: • Do not wash the high carbon steel knife in the dishwasher. • Always dry and clean the blade after use. • Store the knife in the sheath and keep it in a dry place. • Occasionally treat the high carbon steel with food oil or paraffin oil.
