It is non-toxic, extremely hard, and has a specific weight of 18.5g/cm3.
It is 70% heavier than lead.
The extremely heavy material allows for effective hits at distances up to twice that of lead-loaded cartridges.
Approximately 1/2 choke is usually the most effective.
